The Artist, Karen Cross Back to Karen Cross' Art Gallery

Karen Elizabeth Cross was born in 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri. She has been a resident of Seattle, Washington since 1978. She began to follow her interest in art in the 1990's with a drawing class and just recently found her niche in acrylic painting in the contemporary figurative form. Early on she was inspired by the works of the impressionists but, as a painter, has found that her expressive outlet more comfortably aligns with the works of Max Beckman and Picasso. Karen attributes much of her inspiration to the support and encouragement offered by her painting instructor, New York artist Georgetta Gancarz.
